By 2030, all Baby Boomers will be over age 65, and by 2034, American adults 65+ are projected to outnumber children under 18 for the first time. Yet, the voices of older people and their experiences are often overlooked by a popular culture that remains focused on youth or the appearance of youth.

People are living longer, the possibilities of a new phase of life are endless, and writing about it can be inspirational. Whatever stage of life you are in now, what does the experience or expectation of growing older mean to you? In this class you are invited to explore themes related to aging and evolution / reinvention of the self, as well as of the culture we live in. We are more than pharmaceutical ads!

PRICING POLICY: We use the Green Bottle Method for program pricing. This pay-what-you-can model is flexible based on your financial security, constraints, or hardship. Please see our Pricing Model page to learn more before making your selection.

CANCELLATION POLICY: Tuition is non-refundable. Tuition can be credited towards a future class if the student withdraws 14 days prior to the beginning of the start of the class and must be used within one (1) year of receipt. There is also no refund for individually missed classes.

Rituals for Peace & Freedom

How do we build lives with space for peace and freedom? This week we will study practices that calm our spirits, create space for honesty and healing, stillness, bravery, liberation and connection. We will spend the week writing and sharing in community, connecting with each other and ourselves. Come meet new friends and spend the week with us!

Facilitator Bios:

Meg Stentz (she/her)

Meg has been attending YWW camp since junior high, and is braver for it! YWW taught Meg how to speak up, and how to listen, how to hold space for difference, and connect with stories. It is the honor of a lifetime to keep practicing these lessons together, year after year, at camp. Come write with me!

Maya Martinez (she/they)

Maya started making a home in the WWf(a)C community before high school and never left! After attending summer and winter/spring sessions whenever possible, they completed the Young Feminist Leadership Academy program (YFLA) in 2021 with the Cartographer’s cohort. They are an undergraduate student at Smith College and will be graduating in May 2026. She enjoys writing poetry, reading copious amounts of sapphic fantasy/YA novels, and taking her girlfriend on dates to pop-up queer markets.

Maya is looking forward to working and growing alongside WWf(a)C and can’t wait to participate in the summer camps, writing, and fun that this community has to offer.
