Writing Circles
We call our writing classes “circles.” We sit in a circle, but it’s just one part of how we create a nurturing and supportive space where participants feel comfortable writing and sharing (only if they want to). Each class offers the opportunity for growth as a writer and person.
Core Classes
Core Classes are where you find, continue, and maintain your writing practice. Classes allow for personal writing time, sharing in large and small groups, guidance in giving and receiving useful, positive feedback, and opportunities to read aloud to an audience.
Free Sampler
Not sure if a class is right for you? The FREE Samplers are designed to introduce new participants to a sampling of a class before committing to an entire course. This is a great opportunity to meet the facilitator and experience the joy of writing in community.
Craft Classes
Craft Classes are for growing as a writer in your chosen writing style, whether poetry, novel, short story, journaling, or more. These classes will grow you in specific forms and elements.
Specialty Classes
Specialty Classes and workshops are a wide range of classes that are on unique topics to keep you inspired as a creative and writer, such as SoulCollage and Under the New Moon.
Affinity Circles
Affinity Circles are brave inclusive spaces for people with shared identities to gather, write, explore commonalities, and relate. Topics will be thematic, such as Let’s Be Perfectly Queer & I Am My Best Thing: Women of Color Writing Circle
Retreats
Women Writing for (a) Change offers writing retreats for those seeking time for writing, rest, and renewal. The retreats follow a pattern of structured and free time, alone and together, with mornings for individual writing, afternoons for small groups, and evenings for large group activities and readings.
