How?

The Methodology

For a Change Leadership Academy:

  • Is not an information dump, or a wikipedia page, it’s an experience. You will experience a different way to lead and hold space. Our how matches our practices.
  • Is a container for you to explore how you lead intuitively.
  • Is a curated experience that brings engaging topics with space for you to write, discuss, process, and engage each topic in your own way.
  • Can be what you put into it or make it, everything is by invitation with support available for the journey.
  • Engages the Head, Heart, and Body for integrated leadership with Both/And thinking.

When?

  • March 19-27: Info Sessions (a great place to start)

  • July 26 (3:30 arrival) - Aug 2 (noon)

    • A deeply immersive retreat for learning, growing, and exploring.

  • Aug-Nov 8 bi-weekly Mondays 6:30-9PM

    • Aug 11 & 25, Sept 8 & 22, Oct 6 & 20, Nov 3 & 17, 6:30-9PM

    • These sessions will deepen your leadership skills, and prepare you for facilitation inside or outside of Women Writing for a Change.

  • Dec 11 (3:30-5PM arrival) - Dec 14 (noon)

    • Final Retreat: Time to pull all the elements together.

  • Jan-Feb TBD 2 hours

    • Graduation Date to be determined by group.

Ways to Engage:

  • Attend the July 26 - Aug 2 Retreat ONLY for an immersive growth experience to apply to your personal life or leadership at WWfaC.
  • Attend ALL components July-Dec for the full experience of training as a leader for personal application or to potentially facilitate at WWfaC. All components needed to facilitate.
  • Are you a CFLA grad? 
    • You can attend any component again. Many people have used this training for transition times, and maybe you are in a new one. 
    • If you are a facilitator or are considering returning or starting we recommend you attend some of the weekly sessions for continuing education.

  • Designed for women. Now, gender inclusive
  • To explore new ways to lead and hold spaces that are more intuitive, create belonging, and are non-patriarchal. For whatever you do in work or life.
  • For those going through a time of transition, a transformation, and/or are looking for how to move forward in new ways
  • For those who want to get more involved in leadership at WWfaC
  • For those who want to facilitate at WWfaC

Where?

  • Retreats (July 26-Aug 2 & Dec 11-14) are held at the Transfiguration Spirituality Center 469 Albion Ave., Cincinnati, OH 45246

  • 8 Mondays Depending on the Cohort, these may be in person at Women Writing for a Change Building (6906 Plainfield Rd), virtually, or in a hybrid format to meet the needs of the community engaged.

      Topics to be covered in July 26-Aug 2 retreat

  • Bi-weekly Mondays Aug-Nov Topics (adapts to the group and will include)
    • The Practices
    • Implicit Bias and Inclusivity
    • Trauma Informed Facilitating
    • Empathy/Empathetic Boundaries
    • Reflective Listening
    • Parts Theory/Wholeness
    • Holding the Container
  • Practicum: Each participant will also choose to do one of the following:
    • Hold a 3-4 week circle on a topic of their choice
    • Write 15 pages on a topic of your choice in the form of your choice
    • Write 8 pages and lead 1-2 circles
    • Your choosing to be approved: a play, a project, an art series, get imaginative or practical about what you want to explore or contribute.

Cost:

  • $3,499 for All Components July-Dec including both retreats, all bi-weekly sessions, and support for personal project
  • $2,499 for the retreat July 26-Aug 2 only
  • $39 per session for CFLA grads wanting continuing education (more to come on topics per date)

Tuition assistance is available and given with diversity, hardship, and income in mind. No assistance is 100% due to const of facilitation and retreat center, but we will work with you
