Poetry doesn’t have to be serious or intimidating. It can be playful, surprising, and deeply your own. In this 6-session series, we will explore poetry as a creative playground, discovering how form can spark imagination and bring fresh energy to our writing.
Each gathering will introduce a different poetic form: limerick, haiku, haibun, pantoum, sestina, and free verse (know nothing about these yet? Even better!). Through guided prompts, generative writing time, and intentional sharing, you will experiment with voice, rhythm, and image in new ways. No prior poetry experience is needed. Just bring curiosity, a notebook, and a willingness to play with words.
By the end of our time together, you will have a personal mini-collection of poems and a new sense of poetry as a companion in your writing life.
Come curious. Leave with poems that surprise you.
[CANCELLATION POLICY: Tuition is non-refundable. Tuition can be credited towards a future class if the student withdraws 14 days prior to the beginning of the start of the class and must be used within one (1) year of receipt. There is also no refund for individually missed classes.]
