Step into the world of one of America’s most influential writers with this guided tour of Harriet Beecher Stowe House. Discover the historic residence where Stowe lived before penning her groundbreaking novel, Uncle Tom’s Cabin, and gain insight into the life and times of this literary pioneer. Immerse yourself in the ambiance of the 19th century and the social issues that inspired her writing.
Following the tour, you will circle to write, inspired by the history and themes explored during the tour. Reflect on the impact of Stowe’s work and explore how her experiences can ignite your own creative expression. New and experienced writers are welcome. Bring your favorite writing materials or use supplies provided. Please arrive inside the Harriet Beecher Stowe House by 1:45pm so that you can be directed to the gathering location for the event.
