Tell About It: Writing the Stories of Your Life

Summer Camp Grade 4-6 In-Person Image

"Instructions for living a life. Pay attention. Be astonished. Tell about it." ~Mary Oliver

Taking what we have learned from the pandemic, we will transform that knowledge to craft our own stories, histories, and boundaries through WWf(a)C practices. We will explore our own identities and learn about how to grow amid a community of diverse, empowered writers. We will watch and listen to powerful young activists as they face the challenges of growing up and learn how we can all support each other.

  • Taking care of yourself amid the pandemic
  • Exploring Identities: Yours and More
  • Standing on Your Own Ground
  • Building Your Boundaries

Our week-long summer camps, for young people in 4th-12th grades, combine the art of writing and other modes of artistic enrichment to enhance self-esteem and build skills in creative self-expression. Programs are designed to help strengthen participants' authentic voices, develop their ability to speak out through writing and community-building, and deepen their belief in their own creative intelligence.

Our camps are open to young women, non-binary, and trans youth of all genders.

COVID-19 PROTOCOL FOR IN-PERSON CAMPS: Our in-person camps will adhere to the most up-to-date safety protocols and recommendations as provided by the State of Ohio. This includes reducing the maximum number of participants per camp.
SUMMER CAMP 2021 PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY: In order to reserve your place, a deposit of $50 is required at the time of registration. Full payment for the program is due within 14 days of the first day of camp.

In the event a class is cancelled or rescheduled due to lack of enrollment, students will be notified as soon as possible and will be given the option to receive a full credit for a future class or a full refund. All credits must be used within one (1) year of receipt.
