How does chronic pain or illness define our lives, live in our language? This monthly class focuses on writing as a means of coping with the physical challenges of living with a chronic illness or pain.

We will explore different forms from fiction through poetry to find the way to best give voice to not only our bodies' trials, but the emotional and mental work of conditions that require constant physical self care.

To support our writing, we will offer art projects, readings, and small group time. From Sonnets to Rants: We may not be able to change our situations but we can find the language to express and share the full impact of our experience in community.

Classes are offered the first Sunday of the month, January through April 2020:

January 5th
February 2nd
March 1st
April 5th
