Craft of Poetry Image

The Craft of Poetry will explore an aspect of poetry, look at poets who utilize that aspect in their poems, and hone and craft the writer's own work.

Tuesdays: Apr 18 - May 30 In-Person at WWf(a)C. This six-part series will incorporate intentional pauses to attend Poetry Night at Sitwell's on 1st Tuesdays.

Class Arc: Each session will have a different focus on different elements on these general topics.
   Wk 1: An Intro article to turn on the craft focus
   Wk 2: Focus on creative language
   Wk 3: Focus on shape and rhythm: line breaks/stanzas/space/meter
   Wk 4: Focus on Themes ex: place, belief, anatomy, geology, bees
   Wk 5: Focus on forms: sonnet/sestina/golden shovel/experimental
   Wk 6: Staying inspired, living like a poet

CANCELLATION POLICY: Tuition is non-refundable but can be credited towards a future class if the student withdraws no later than 14 days prior to the beginning of class. No refunds for missed classes. All credits must be used within one (1) year of receipt.Covid-19 Protocol: Masks encouraged.
