The way we learn the power of craft is by reading the work of others, finding what we love or dislike about it, and asking, "How did the writer do that?" In this fun and relaxed, eight-week class, we will use WWf(a)C practices to explore the craft elements in the lyrical, romantic fantasy novel, The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

What makes a novel a "fantasy" when all of fiction is told through invention? How does a writer manage a story over 500 pages? We will be reading and learning together. Watch your writing grow stronger than ever while we have a great time. Uncertain if this is for you? We have a FREE Sampler on February 6th, 2-3pm ET via Zoom.

This class will require purchasing the book (you'll want to mark it up) and committing to out-of-class reading along with a few exercises that will help us become not only stronger writers but better readers. Open to women and non-binary adult writers ages 16+ of fiction, memoir, and creative non-fiction.

Sundays, Feb 13, 20, 27, Mar 6, 13, 20, 27 and Apr 3, from 2-4:30pm ET via Zoom. Your facilitator will provide specific details regarding this online community prior to the start of class.

Karen Novak is a four-time published novelist, writing teacher, and practiced facilitator, who graduated from the Conscious Feminine Leadership Academy (CFLA) in 2013. She describes herself as a "manuscript therapist," helping students and clients to grow their stories into the books they want to write.
