Join writer Annette Januzzi Wick of Women Writing for (a) Change and the Lloyd Library staff in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Cincinnati Wildflower Society, exploring and capturing, through words, the rich history of wildflowers in Ohio, the work of Lucy Braun, a well-known Cincinnati naturalist from the 1800's, and the collection of books and photographs in the Lloyd Library.

The World and the Story

In fiction, there's an interdependent relationship between world-building (the map) and narrative construction (the route). Women Writing for (a) Change offers week-long writing retreats in summer, and shorter retreats in other seasons, for those seeking time for writing, rest, and renewal. All of our retreats follow a pattern of structured and free time, alone and together, with mornings for individual writing, afternoons for small groups, and evenings for large group activities and readings. We allow ample space for writing, walking, art-making, dreaming, and resting. Our retreats are an opportunity for participants to go deep with a project or to start something anew.
